Daily English Vocabulary Words Practice Set - 16 For SBI,IBPS Exams

Dear Readers,

                      As you all know that many exams have lined up and you all must be aware of the fact that SBI Clerk-2016 for the Next Month. So SSC-IBPS team has decided to launch certain things that will not focus on any particular exam. In fact it will be relevant for all exams that is going to be held in upcoming months.


1. Valour: courage,
Example: The valour of our soldiers is known to all from time immemorial.
              Mere valour is not sufficient to be successful.

2. Annex: add to the end,
Example: Germany annexed Austria in 1938.
              She has annexed another little in the table-tennis championship.

3. Gaily: brightly
Example: She waved gaily to the crowd.
               She gaily announced that she was leaving for Australia.

4. Rebel:
Example: The army put down the rebellion.
              The rebel is one who rebels against authority.

5. Attire: dress,
Example: The saints Attire according to their cult.
               You should all attend the function in your best attire.

6. Inflict: impose,
Example: They were inflicted by the kidnappers.
              Do you have to inflict that music on us?

7. Wield: exercise, use
Example: he wields his pen very powerfully.
            Political leaders should wield their power for public good.

8. Utter: speak, total
Example: He never uttered a word of protest.
                 We utterly failed to convince them.

9. Foresight: fore seeing
Example: The ants have better foresight than any other living beings.
                  Foresight is not some thing like day dreaming but a constructive planing about feature.

10. Setback (n)
Example: His lack of fluency in English proved to be a setback in his career.
